Arrests at Community Walkabout

At a recently Bristnall community forum  local residents expressed their concerns with the increasing ASB and  drug dealing around the  Sandfields open space. Concerned about the news it was agreed to take a walk-a-bout of the area with  Bristnall ward Councillors, Police and local residents to get a first hand look at the problem.

The walkabout arranged last night (Wed) was well attended and during the tour officers from the ward identified and had cause to enter a premises on the estate where a local man was arrested for production of cannabis on  premises.

Bristnall ward and Oldbury Town lead Councillor Steven Frear chairs the public forum and was present at the time of the arrest.

This is another great success for the community forums, we have already seen two major drugs busts in the ward and further arrests were made a few weeks ago down at the Oval.  It proves to me that with good intelligence from the community, the Council and the Police can play an active and vital roll in keeping our streets and neighbourhoods safe.

Details of the next Bristnall community forum will be updated on this site in the near future. if you wish to attend or want to know more drop me an email at steven.frear@btinternet.com or subscribe to this site.
